Matthew 3:7-9

7 But when he saw many of ^athe Pharisees and ^bSadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, ^c“You brood of ^dvipers! Who warned you to flee from ^ethe wrath to come? 8 Bear fruit ^fin keeping with repentance. 9 And do not presume to say to yourselves, ^g‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from ^hthese stones to raise up children for Abraham.

John 8:39-41

You Are of Your Father the Devil

39 They answered him, ⁱ“Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, ^j“If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did, 40 but now ^kyou seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth ^lthat I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did. 41 You are doing the works your father did.” They said to him, ^m“We were not born of sexual immorality. We have ⁿone Father—even God.”

Romans 4:16

16 That is why it depends on faith, ^oin order that the promise may rest on grace and ^pbe guaranteed to all his offspring—not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, ^qwho is the father of us all,
